At the beginning of 2002 the Fiat Group had around 200,000 employees - the Group employed 20,400 new employees in 2001, 6700 in Italy and 13,700 in other countries.The global expansion of the Group's operations has produced a shift in the geographical distribution of its staff. The number of employees working outside Italy has increased steadily and now amounts to over 50% of the total workforce.
The people who work for the Fiat Group are a company asset, and enhancing their value is an obligation of fundamental importance. The numerous programmes and initiatives that the Group has launched in this area are continuing and whenever necessary are strengthened to fit the individual's professional needs. The Fiat Group has always included customer satisfaction and customer care among its core values, and in recent years several sectors have launched training programmes specifically designed for their sales and customer care networks, to make customer satisfaction the focus of attention.

In the UK there are currently around 160 Fiat dealers. Fiat Auto UK plans for 200 Fiat dealers in the medium term. |
